14 Day Accommodation Adventure & Safari Trip: Lilongwe - Lilongwe (Malawi)

Itinerary
Day 1: Lilongwe, Malawi
Arrive in Lilongwe and transfer to Lodge (airport pick up included). Today
you can rest after your flight or maybe explore the city. Lodge rooms. Bed
and breakfast.
Day 2: Luwawa Forest
Drive to Luwawa Forest, you will have time to explore some of the many footpaths
near the lodge and dam or maybe hire a mountain bike for the afternoon (bikes
at own expense). Lodge rooms. Full board.
Day 3: Luwawa Forest
Today you start the 3 day hike towards the lakeshore. The hike takes you
through beautiful forest where you are likely to see Duiker and Vervet monkeys.
The next 2 nights you will camp in the forest. All equipement, guides and
porters are included. Camping. Full board.
Day 4: Luwawa Forest
Hiking day. Walking through forest and villages. Camping. Full board.
Day 5: Kande
Today around midday brings you to the end of the hike, hot showers await
at the lodge which is based at the stables ready for your ride in the morning.
En-suite rooms at the stables. Full board.
Day 6: Kande
After breakfast you start your day of horse riding (up to 6 hours) riding
through the bush, floodplains and villages at the end of the day you take
the horses for a bare back swim in the lake. En-suite rooms at the stables.
Full board.
Day 7: Senga Bay
Drive to Senga Bay with time to spend swimming, snorkelling or maybe take
one of the lodge`s canoes out onto the lake. On the way down to Senga Bay
you can also stop at a village near Nkhotakota where the village will sing,
dance and play the drums for you. A donation is made and put into a fund
for the village to help eg; repair water pump, buy bicycles, school uniforms
and look after orphans or you could take a guided walk into Nkhotakota game
reserve for the morning. Lodge en-suite rooms. Full board.
Day 8: Domwe Island
Drive to Cape Maclear to pick up your kayak for the 1 to 2 hour trip to
Domwe Island, here you will stay in a tented en-suite camp with your own
balcony. You will have the kayak and snorkelling gear to explore the island.

Day 9: Domwe Island
Another day on Domwe Island for you to explore with your kayak and snorkelling
gear. En-suite tented camp. Full board.
Day 10: Cape Maclear
After breakfast it is time to canoe back to the mainland, spending the night
in Cape Maclear. Lodge en-suite rooms. Full board.
Day 11: Liwonde National Park
Drive to Liwonde National Park. Here you will have a game drive and also
a boat safari. En-suite chalet. Full board.
Day 12: Liwonde National Park
Another day to explore the park with a game drive and boat safari. En-suite
chalet. Full board.
Day 13: Ligwangwa Njobvu
After breakfast we drive to the village of Ligwangwa Njobvu where you will
experience Malawian life, here you can take part if you wish in daily life
, you will sleep in a furnished hut, eat local food and be entertained by
singing and dancing. All proceeds go to the village where older woman take
care of orphans. Hut. Full board.
Day 14: Lilongwe
Today we head back to Lilongwe via Dedza pottery where you have time to
look around and maybe buy some of this amazing Malawi pottery. We also include
coffee and cake! Arrive Lilongwe, we take you back to the lodge for the
night.
End of trip. ( We will provide free airport drop off if it is the next morning)
